    Admissions Requirements

    MA in Religion: All Concentrations

    1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
    2. Official transcripts from all institutions.
    3. Three letters of recommendation, including 2 academic and 1 religious or professional.
    4. Autobiographical essay of 1000 words.
    5. Resume or CV detailing experience.
    6. TOFL score, if English is not the applicant's first language.
    7. $50 application fee.

    MDiv in Islamic Chaplaincy

    1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
    2. Official transcripts.
    3. Three letters of recommendation.
    4. Autobiographical essay of 1000 words.
    5. Resume or CV.
    6. TOEFL as required.
    7. $50 application fee.

    DMin in Islamic Leadership

    1. MDiv or equivalent in theology or religion from an accredited academic institution.
    2. 3 or more years of ministry experience.
    3. Official transcripts.
    4. Three letters of recommendation.
    5. Resume or CV.
    6. DMin application essay.
    7. Sample ministry paper.
    8. $50 application fee.

    Graduate Certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy

    Limited admission until 2027, inquire with Bayan personnel.

    Requirements include:

    • Autobiographical statement of 250 words or fewer
    • Resume or CV
    • Two letters of recommendation

    Program Structure

    All Bayan programs are hybrid. Students engage in online coursework with 1 to 2 week in-person intensives each semester at Claremont School of Theology. Attendance is required for both formats.

    Each academic term, students are assessed tuition for the courses they are enrolled in.

    The course load may vary from term to term, but students must enroll in Fall and Spring terms on a continuous basis once they have matriculated.

    Students may need to enroll in the Summer term depending on course availability and progress in fulfilling program requirements.

    Course tuition does not include books, travel, lodging, meals, or other expenses.

    Students should expect to travel to Los Angeles for intensive class meetings during two or three terms per academic year of their program, including Fall, Spring, and Summer, depending on course selection.

    Students receiving scholarships greater than 50% must fulfill fundraising requirements indicated in their annual award letters in order to be approved for ongoing enrollment in courses.

    Financial Aid & Scholarships

    Students are billed full tuition by CST. Financial assistance may be available via FAFSA Code G01661. Bayan offers named scholarships for partial tuition support.
